Fresh Water-Diving at Khao Sok

Rajaprabha artificial lake (min. 3 persons)

Constructed in 1982, 120 km from Khao Lak. The 165-sqkm Rajaprabha artificial lake with its impressive landscape of limestone and sandstone rock certainly offers a different dive environment. We organize diving trips from Khao Lak.

This is a 2-day-trip to the breathtaking landscape of Khao Sok national park. Past large caves and a Thai market, we arrive at our start point, The Rajaprabha Dam. As we arrive, a Long tail boat awaits us for a one-hour journey over the lake to the floating Bungalows, which is our overnight accommodation. The trip is nearly already alone worth the journey.

The floating Bungalows with an attached restaurant spoil us with fresh fish from the lake and other Thai delicacies. We have enough time to swim in the lake or go exploring on kayaks. After reaching the floating Bungalows, we do our first dive around 3 p.m. After the delicious dinner and one or the other Sang Song Coke we go to bed in our floating Bungalows and hear the night voices of the surrounding Jungle.

After breakfast, we go for our second dive. We sink into a green world. A steep wall interspersed with small grottos and caves, dead giant trees covered with old fishing nets and large half-blind catfish, which cross our ways. All this with a view of about 10-15 metres and a water temperature of 28 degrees! The dives we do on Nitrox 32% what is free of charge, for non Nitrox Divers we can offer Discover Nitrox Diving, as well free of charge.

After the dive, there is still time to swim in the lake or relax in the bungalows. For more experienced divers we can make also dives into the thermo cline at 20 meters. Small sunbeams, which light your way in the darkness, let us think of a summer starlit sky.

After a lunch it is to time for the journey home and are usually back in Khao Lak by 17.00.

Naturally, non-divers are also welcome to experiences this unique area away from the mass tourism!
