Scuba Diving Daytrip to Richelieu Rock

The most spectacular dive site in the Andaman Sea. A giant rock formation covered with colourful soft and hard corals. Barracudas, trevallies and groupers grow big here and are always hungry for more. If you like small and pretty things you will find a diversity of nudibranchs, pipefish, crustacean and flamboyant fish as you look into the reef. Make sure you turn around sometimes or you will miss the occasional whale shark. They like to hide behind the swarming snappers and fusiliers.

Scuba Diving Daytrip to Koh Tachai

This beautiful island provides a few dive sites which makes it suitable for every certification level. Koh Tachai Plateau is the main dive site and definitely the most favourite one of many divers which have been living in Khao Lak for a long time.
Enormous schools of great barracudas, fusiliers and hunting giant trevallies are always hanging out here. The Plateau starts at 12 meters and is surrounded by massive granite boulders sloping down to 40 meters. This place is full of surprises! Oceanic Manta rays love to come here to perform their hypnotising dance. When the current picks up the occasional whale shark swings by, too. In the deeper water leopard sharks and stingrays can be found resting on the sand.
Moreover, sea snakes, zebra morays, lobsters, turtles, groupers and random macro life inhabit the reef. Every now and then even a black tip or grey reef shark says hello. For the photography lovers Koh Tachai has a few of the biggest and most beautiful fan corals in the entire Similan National Park. If there is no current your dive guide might take you along the coral alley that will eventually lead to a the hidden ‘secret pinnacle’. There is always more to explore!

Scuba Diving Daytrip to Koh Bon

This small, uninhabited island made of volcanic rock is located about 20km north of island #9 and is famous for its Manta Rays. A reef encases this beach less, barren rock and the site consists of a beautiful steep wall that drops to about 35 meters.

If it's Manta Rays you are after, this is without a doubt your best opportunity to meet these graceful creatures which can grow to several meters in size. There are abundant coral and small crevices containing a variety of reef fish, pipefish and Nudibranchs.

Despite damage to the coral from the days of dynamite fishing, the reef is definitely recovering, but the broken up areas provide hiding places for moray eels and octopus. Reef sharks and Leopard sharks round this experience off. Diving with the mantas of Koh Bon is, without exception, the highlight of every diver!

Scuba Diving Daytrip to Similan Islands

The Similan Islands is an island group consisting of 9 islands in the Andaman Sea, about 70 km off the coast of the province of Phang Nga in Thailand. Together with the islands Koh Bon and Koh Tachai they form the marine national park Mu Ko Similan.

In the coral reefs of the Similans you can find mainly coral corals, soft corals, gorgonian fans, sponges, giant shells and sea cucumbers. In the multitude of coral fish you can find clownfish and emperor fish, sweetlips, sea serpents and sometimes turtles.

We carry out the trips to the Similan Islands together with partner centers.

Scuba Diving Daytrip to Boonsung Wreck

This wreck is the only local wreck. It was a tin excavator, which sunk in 1984. It now lies on a sandy bottom at about 18 meters and like most wrecks has become an artificial reef attracting an amazing amount of marine life. As one diver put it, "A dive to the Boon Sung is like diving in fish soup". There are schools of Barracuda, hedgehog fish, Lion fish, Leopard sharks and well camouflaged scorpion and stone fish are there to be discovered. Over the last 3 years we have regularly encountered whale sharks, sometimes 2 at a time. Half-day trips and night dives are available from Khao Lak.
