Snorkeling-Daytrips to the Similan Islands
The Similan Islands is an island group of 9 islands in the Andaman Sea, about 70 km off the coast of the province of Phang Nga in Thailand. Together with the islands Koh Bon and Koh Tachai they form the marine national park Mu Ko Similan.
At the coral reefs of the Similans one can find mainly coarse corals, but also soft corals, gorgonian fans, sponges, giant shells and sea cucumbers.
In the multitude of coral fish you can find clownfish and emperor fish, sweetlips, sea snakes and of course theone or other Turtle.
Snorkeling-Daytrips to the Surin Islands
North of the Similan National Park, the Surin National Park is located, with the top dive site Richelieu Rock and the 2 Surin Islands. These are still a secret tip for snorkel trips from Khao Lak. The day trips start from the harbor north of Khao Lak, Nam Kem.
With large speedboats the islands are approached in about 1.5 hours. The Surin Islands offer a magnificent underwater world, flat reefs with hard and soft corals, populated by colorful reef fish. You will visit 3 different snorkel spots, the lunch (Thai / European buffet) is served directly at the beach. After lunch, you have another hour to explore the snow-white beaches with crystal clear water.
Before returning to the mainland, a visit to a local Gypsy Village (Monken People) is on the agenda. Back at the pier you can expect a variety of snacks before returning to your hotel. This successful snorkel excursion day will be remembered for a long time!
Snorkeling-Daytrip to Koh Bon
This snorkel trip is perfect for non-divers who want to accompany their dive partner.
With our own speed boat, the "Blue Marlin", we bring you from the harbor Nam Kem to the offshore island Koh Bon, which is famous for encounters with manta rays and belongs to the Similan National Park (Muh Koh Similan). The travel time is about 1 hour.
As soon as the divers begin their dive, you can explore the bay of Koh Bon, healthy corals of all shapes and sizes, colorful reef fish, mackerel, tuna and even some barracuda can cross your paths. And if you are really lucky, you can see manta rays, or even a whale shark at snorkeling.
As soon as the divers have finished their second dive, we will serve some fruits before returning to the harbor. You will be back in your hotel around 16:00.
