Saving Floridas Reef from the Ocean Heatwave

A race to save the Reefs in Florida from the ocean heatwave

In Florida, USA I.CARE’s volunteer divers trying to save the Coral Reefs from the current ocean heat wave. They have been doing so for a couple of years already, but this years operation differs from the years before, because it starts much earlier.

Even at about 20m deep they have already about 30°C, and in shallower waters coral bleach is already happening. Whole Coral Reef Nurseries are beeing moved to deeper water or even in holding tanks, algae and predators are beeing scraped by divers to increase the chance of survival.
